Costa Ricans on world child pornography chat are being investigated

The Public Ministry investigates the participation of two Costa Ricans in a world chat that allegedly promotes the diffusion of child pornography.

According to the Office of the Prosecutor, the suspects, named Matamoros and Rojas used the WhatsApp platform for that purpose. The Operational Management Unit (UODF) initiated an investigation against them on Monday.

The subjects are being investigated for the crime of child pornography. According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the defendants were captured on Monday, investigated and then released with ties to the process.

The raids were carried out in San Pedro de Montes de Oca and Heredia, in the houses of the suspects. There, authorities seized evidence for the investigation. Apparently, two Costa Rican phones were part of the group.
