Costa Ricans were affected by at least 3 monthly, power outages

November 17, 2016 by Staff News Writer

According to the Public-Service Regulatory Authority (ARESEP), subscribers from the national electricity were affected by at least 3 monthly, power outages.

That was the result of an analysis made during the first half of the year in more than 14,000 subscribers from several electricity companies.

The study took data from 2081 power-flow studies: 9% showed deficiencies and to date, 96% of the cases have been solved.

This report provides timely and relevant information to make decisions that address the asymmetry that exists in the quality of electric service that users receive throughout the country,

said Roberto Jiménez, regulator general.

This analysis was made with the technical support of the University of Costa Rica (UCR) and it contemplated parameters of quality of electrical power that distributing companies use to provide energy.
