CR and the Netherlands signed agreement to strengthen ports

President Luis Guillermo Solís is in the Netherlands as part of his European tour, and he participated in signing the agreement with representatives of the Amsterdam International Port to develop the cruise industry in Puntarenas and Limón.

The agreement was signed by the Costa Rican ambassador to the Netherlands, Sergio Ugalde, which will make it possible to use the knowledge of the Dutch in the cruise industry and port management.

The country wants to develop the cruise industry in Puntarenas and Limón, which has grown in recent years from 8,459 people in 2013 to 10,439 in 2016, according to figures from the Costa Rican Tourism Institute.

The authorities of the International Port of Amsterdam assured that they would be willing to make a trip to Costa Rica to analyze this aspect of the country.
