Surfers and visitors at Esterillos Este Beach have an eye on the waves and the other in alert, due to a repeated crocodile sighting.

The Essential Costa Rica Open Pro QS 3000 tournament, from the World Surf League, is being held in this Costa Rican beach since October 5th.

However, the event had to be held on Thursday and Friday for the presence of this animal.

It comes to the surface to breathe at different hours, so it does not allow us to identify if there is one or several. On October 7th, this was a problem until around 3:30 p.m.,”

said Pablo García, who is in charge of executing a series of actions set by the Red Cross.

If the animal is seen, members of the organization who are in watercraft will be alerted and will be responsible for evacuating the entire set of competition.

The Essential Costa Rica Open Pro QS 3000 is a competition with more than 200 surfers from around the world.
