Depression is increasing and it is affecting people’s jobs

April 5, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Last year, the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) paid 1,400 million colones for disabilities due to depression.

In total, 77,769 leave days were granted to 4,339 people who, on average, couldn’t work during 17 days.

Maria del Rocío Sáenz warned that this is an evil that is increasing in the country.

She warned that we all have neighbors, friends, colleagues and relatives who have the symptoms, but many times they go unnoticed.

The relationship between this evil and drug use is also increasing.
