Discover the most hidden and beautiful corners of San José

December 6, 2016 by Staff News Writer

One December morning, walking outdoors between buildings declared as historical heritage, a cafeteria, good coffee and tasting… Sounds familiar? Because that is the menu prepared by the collective Chepe Cletas for next Saturday.

The activity seeks visitors to see a San José they rarely see.

We will visit places like the Central Market, a traditional bar that is nearby and a gourmet coffee shop to learn a bit about barismo and the origins of coffee. The tour goes through Barrio Otoya, Amón and Central Avenue and we will also have snack tasting,”

said Roberto Guzmán from Chepe Cletas.

The tour will last 3 hours and the group believes about 50 people will participate in the walk.

Sometimes we think that San José is horrible and that we cannot walk here, but we want to change that perception and that people learn history, learn about new places and see all the good things in the city,”

said Guzmán.

Those interested should book their place in line before Friday. The participation fee is 5,000 colones to be canceled in cash the day of the event.

The walk starts at 9:15 a.m in Parque España.
