Dollar closed at ¢528.93 (Sell Colones) on Thursday

The price of the dollar rose ¢3.16 in trading on Wednesday in the wholesale market (Monex) and the end of the day the value of the currency was at ¢528.93. According to figures provided by the Central Bank of Costa Rica (BCCR) on its website, the dollar rose a total of ¢12.84 since last Monday.

Last week, after an unexpectedly high demand for dollars, the Central Bank injected $5 million into the market, in order to prop up the value on the colon.
