Donate blood for victims of Cinchona accident

Hospitals and the National Blood Bank thanked the solidarity of the population for donating blood after the accident in Cinchona and reported that they supplied in a short time their needs for Thursday.

But they will also be collecting blood on Friday morning at the National Blood Bank from 7 a.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon.

The Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) activated the service network of all national Basic Comprehensive Health Care (EBAIS), health areas and regional hospitals to care for all patients injured in Cinchona.

EBAIS in Venecia de San Carlos, Rio Cuarto de Grecia, San Miguel and health area of Aguas Zarcas, assisted patients admitted in critical condition. They were later referred to hospitals in San Carlos, Mexico Hospital, San Juan de Dios Hospital and San Vincente de Paúl in Heredia.

At 2:30 p.m. the victims were in the operating room in San Carlos, 2 were referred to San Juan de Dios hospital. They were stabilized and referred for observation.
