Drivers disrespect demarcation of “yellow boxes” in San Jose

March 7, 2014 by Staff News Writer

“Cajas amarillas” en San José. CRH

Many drivers have failed to understand the meaning of a series of yellow boxes, painted on intersections of downtown San Jose by Ministry of Public Works and Transport. In an effort to avoid bottlenecks, the boxes are a reminder of the 49,000 colones fine for blocking an intersection. Demarcation is expected to continue through March 15th. However, transit police are already writing fines.
