Drugs online? Better be cautious…

August 23, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Dozens of emails are designed to provide products such as birth control pills and medications for erectile dysfunction, but buying them online could turn people into the victims of a scam.

We always recommend that people buy drugs in authorized establishments because 50% of these drugs are fake and the location of the alleged foreign center where they come from is unknown,”

said Olga Esquivel, Attorney General of the Pharmacists College.

The specialist explained that in most cases, companies operating abroad have registered products offered as “natural”, but contain chemicals which could be harmful to the human body.

Similarly, Esquivel said that this problem increases with the sale of drugs in the streets, such as in Parque de la Merced.

People are always advised to be careful when buying products, to verify that the package is new and in good shape and new, and that the seller is authorized,”

said Esquivel.
