Last Friday, authorities found several sticks of dynamite on the bridge deck. This was confirmed on Wednesday morning by the Minister of Public Works and Transport (MOPT), Carlos Villalta.
Villalta said that they immediately warned the Directorate of Intelligence and Security (DIS), and Don Mariano Figueres, Director of the unit, is investigating the case.
The bridge is partially closed, but there is an open lane in the area. The bridge is undergoing an expansion process and dozens of workers cover different shifts each day.
