April 26, 2018 by Staff News Writer

An 8-year-old Swiss boy died on Wednesday afternoon in La Fortuna Waterfall in San Carlos de Alajuela. The information was confirmed by the Costa Rican Red Cross (CRC).

The body of the child appeared 30 meters downstream from where he disappeared. The family accompanying the child reported at 1:30 p.m. that they did not know the child’s whereabouts. The Red Cross began the search for the trails, which had no results.

Then the expedition took to the water and three hours after the initial report, the staff found the body of the child, who was already lifeless.

The case was left in the hands of the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ).
