September 24, 2018 by Staff News Writer

According to the press office of the Judicial Branch, its officials participated in the strike movement in Parrita, Guápiles, Turrialba, Limón, Pérez Zeledón, Corredores, Golfito, Liberia, Nicoya, Santa Cruz, and San Carlos .

The entity reported people supporting the strike, but without neglecting urgent matters and essential services.

In the Prosecutor’s Office of Desamparados, officials indicated that they would not receive cases unless they were of great importance or emergency. However, the institution rejected that possibility and stressed that all its staff is working and providing all services to users who so require.

This afternoon there was a meeting in a courtroom with the unions of the Judiciary, which has already concluded. This means that, although some of the staff attended the meeting, the service was always provided to the user,”

said the entity.

This Monday, the unions continued to affect free transit at different points. In addition, the Costa Rican Social Security Fund reported that in these two weeks, 66,610 appointments were suspended and 2,339 surgeries were canceled.
