Experience the magic of Coco Island without traveling 36 hours

February 20, 2019 by Staff News Writer

Musician Manuel Obregón captivated audiences with his music inspired by Coco Island, while the talented Carlos Hiller created a painting that represents the biodiversity of this jewel of nature. This was the first weekend of the Virtual reality project ‘Mi Isla del Coco’, carried out in Multiplaza Escazú and had the support of the renowned artists.

Visitors had the opportunity to experience the National Park without having to travel 36 hours in a row to get to the island. More than 1,500 people walked through the cloud forest, dived near the sharks and were part of the #MiIslaDelCoco project, whose proceeds will be destined to conservation projects of this Natural Heritage of Humanity site.

The virtual reality tour has a cost of one thousand colones and can be taken by children and adults. In addition, on February 20th at 10:00 am, the engineer, oceanographer and scientist Melania Guerra will share part of her knowledge about the ocean. My Isla del Coco will be in Multiplaza Escazú until March 3rd and then it will be taken to Multiplaza del Este.
