Family drug gang was finally stopped in Alajuela

A family-based criminal organization was stopped this Thursday in Montecillos de Alajuela. They apparently distributed drugs in the sector.

A 40-year-old woman and her 17-year-old son were some of the six people arrested. The four raids also resulted in the confiscation of half a kilo of marijuana, 140 doses and four bags of crack paste. More than ¢1.5 million and $ 50 of cash were also detected, as well as two firearms and a police baton.

The investigation began in January this year thanks to confidential information, which indicated that the suspects were apparently engaged in the sale and distribution of drugs on public roads,”

said the Judicial Investigation Agency.

The main suspects are a couple named Montero Araya and Mora Bolaños. In addition to a woman surnamed Arroyo Castro, mother of the minor. The gang was also made up of two subjects named Duarte Soto and Rodríguez Araya.
