Figueres officially announces pre-candidacy in PLN

On Wednesday afternoon, José María Figueres officially announced his candidacy to the authorities of the National Liberation Party (PLN).

The former president officially announced his participation in the verdiblancos convention to be held on April 2nd.

Álvarez Desanti was the first candidate, followed by legislator Rolando Gonzalez and finally Figueres.

Sigifredo Aiza, on the other hand, will register his candidacy on Friday.

Figueres is an industrial engineer, he was the Minister of Foreign Trade from 1986 to 1988, the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock from 1988 to 1990 and President of Costa Rica from 1994 to 1998.
