Firefighters got hit by a car while catching a crocodile

November 26, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The residents of Jacó were surprised by the presence of a crocodile of about a meter long. According to the information provided by the Fire Department, the animal arrived near Apartotel Gaviotas.

Upon arrival, Unit M 94 from Garabito managed to catch the animal, which caused nothing but nervousness in some people. But while the firemen were working, a light vehicle collided with the unit.

Although the crash was no serious, it did complicate the work of the authorities, who had to take the animal from the site to a safe place and also wait for the traffic police.

The Municipal Police of the canton collaborated to take the reptile to its release, in the Hermosa beach sector.
An employee of the aparthotel said that the animal never entered the building and that it remained on the sidewalk, so guests were not endangered.
