Firm that built González Flores Bridge got ¢123 million after Nate

November 10, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The construction firm Codocsa, responsible for the construction of the Alfredo González Flores Bridge, has been awarded the largest sum by the Government to take care of the first impact works after storm Nate.

Until November 2nd, Codocsa had been awarded ¢123 million of the ¢635 million disbursed at that time, that is, one fifth of everything paid so far.

According to Julisa Ulate, interim executive director of the National Commission of Emergencies (CNE), the first impact works could have a final cost of around ¢ 4,000 million.

Ulate explained that the hiring has been made through the Integrated System of Public Procurement (Sicop), a platform that can be offered as long as they meet the legal requirements, which are: being up to date with the social security, being registered in the Family Allowances Fund and without delinquency in the tax on legal persons.

According to the data provided by the CNE, the works were carried out in the cantons of Acosta, Aserrí, Cartago, Corredores, Desamparados, León Cortés, Puntarenas, San José, Tarrazú and Turrubares.

The resources used to pay for these works or contracts come from the National Emergency Fund.
