Fiscal plan will allow payment of bonuses in the public sector before December 20th

December 4, 2018 by Staff News Writer

The Ministry of Finance expects a better performance in the following auctions, which will be a relief to obtain monies for the payment of bonuses, following the approval in second reading of the Fiscal Plan.

Although initially this disbursement was scheduled for December 6th, Rocío Aguilar ruled out that possibility on Tuesday afternoon, because even if they had the money, they do not have time. The government has until December 20th to pay the 13th salary of the year.

We will have to see if the latest events (the approval of the project) improve the possibilities to meet the obligations before that date (December 20th),”

said Aguilar.

The hierarch explained that only with the result of the optional consultations of the Constitutional Chamber, which were announced on November 23rd,

there was a highly positive reaction that has resulted in an improvement in the price of our debt of up to 140 base points, which would be 1.40%”

The government needs 170 billion colones for the payment of bonuses.
