Five people were slightly injured this morning, after the crash of a tractor trailer with a train near the Law Faculty at the University of Costa Rica (UCR), behind the Mall San Pedro. The accident occurred around 5: 30 am, and sent the occupants of the truck to Hospital Calderón Guardia. Three occupants of the train received less serious injuries and were sent to either Calderón Guardia or Hospital San Juan de Dios.

According to witnesses, the driver of the truck did not detect the approach of the train, and struck it head on. The force derailed the train and destroyed the truck.
