June 19, 2017 by Staff News Writer

On Saturday, the Border Police arrested five gold-seeking suspects in the mountainous area of Crucitas in Cutris, San Carlos.

They are five Costa Ricans named Elizondo, Quesada, Gutiérrez, Sequeira and Zúñiga, who carried several tools used for gold extraction.

The Border Police confirmed on Monday morning that Zúñiga was wanted in court for robbery.

The week before, police also surprised four illegal gold miners in this same mountainous sector of Las Crucitas de Cutris.
