Frente Amplio doesn’t want PANI resources to be cut back

October 28, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Frente Amplio’s Legislators presented a consultation of constitutionality against the cut back of 25 billion colones from the National Children’s Trust (PANI). To achieve their goal, they asked for the support of other legislators as Lorelly Trejos from Liberación Nacional and other PAC members, because the query needs a minimum of 10 signatures.

The fraction ensures that the reduction violates several articles of the Constitution and the International Convention on the Rights of the Child and the American Convention on Human Rights.

Edgardo Araya, from Frente Amplio, assures that the cut back would violate children’s rights and he expects there is a resolution before the Legislature votes. The IV Chamber has one month to declare whether the reduction violates the Constitution or not.
