Fuel prices go down today

July 4, 2019 by Staff News Writer

On Wednesday afternoon the official newspaper La Gaceta published the reduction in the price of fuel. The decrease responds to the request of the Public Services Regulatory Authority (Aresep) after a study carried out in the month of June.

The decrase applies from this Thursday, July 4th. Thus, the price of super gasoline will decrease from ¢684 to ¢659 per liter, the regular will go from ¢665 to ¢638, and diesel will go down from ¢571 to ¢527.

Liquefied petroleum gas will also have a ¢731 reduction for the 25-pound cylinder (for domestic use). Now it will cost ¢6590.

This is explained mainly by a decrease in international prices, and the reduction in the exchange rate that fell during the price review period: it went from ¢596.99 /$ (in the previous setting) to ¢590,15.

The next price revision is scheduled for Friday, July 12th.
