Gender equality encouraged from the classroom

May 31, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The program “Schools for Change” aims to promote gender equality for children in school age.

This project is promoted by the Ministry of Public Education (MEP) and the National Institute for Women (INAMU) and it focus on school culture and modifying practices that prevent equal opportunities between men and women.

The idea is to use inclusive language and develop skills and interests without discrimination, so that students can choose sports, cultural, political, scientific, artistic, social and family activities with equal opportunities and respect for diversity.

According to the INAMU, the process is not only with students, but parents training activities are also organized, so that they can be part of the cultural transformation.
