German company Amoena will leave the country

May 29, 2019 by Staff News Writer

The German company Amoena, which manufactured bras for breast cancer patients and women’s intimate apparel, will stop operations in Costa Rica.

The company, which employed some 300 people, will leave the country “due to changes in its business strategy and in order to optimize the supply chain,” confirmed Cinde.

“The company made the decision due to substantial changes in market patterns and business revolutions in recent years; especially, the supply of textiles and other materials for intimate products, which have been transferred mainly to Asia. With a view to sustainable growth, Amoena informed that it needs to approach the supplier markets in Asia and the consumer markets in Europe,” said Cinde.

Amoena assured that it guarantees that all the procedures established by law will be respected and applied to its employees at the moment of ending an employment relationship.
