Good news! The train will start working this week!

January 17, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The train will start working due to closures in La Platina. Its locomotive would be heard in the center of Alajuela from this week.

We asked the company to increase the number of workers so that we could finish faster. We started the last stage which is the roof, and that’s the only thing that is missing because the ticket offices, services, the floor and everything else is ready,

declared mayor of Alajuela Roberto Thompson.

Cristhian Vargas, CEO of INCOFER, informed that the train could start offering services to Alajuela even if the platform is not ready.

Even though ARESEP has not approved the 650 colones rate for a travel between Alajuela and San José, Vargas stated that the service can start, since authorities will use the current amount charged in Heredia.
