Government Council to meet every September 30th in Puntarenas

March 30, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The Governing Council will have to meet every September 30th in Puntarenas, according to a bill approved in second reading by the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.

The initiative, led by Legislator Gerardo Vargas Rojas, leader of the Christian Social Unity Party (PUSC), had 39 votes in favor and two against.

The project states that the Governing Council will be held on September 30th in that province as a tribute to the national heroes Juanito Mora and General José María Cañas.

This is an act that forces our rulers to return to see Puntarenas with the responsibility and goodwill with which Juanito Mora saw us more than 160 years ago,”

said Vargas Rojas.
