Government finally delivered project to regulate Uber

January 22, 2019 by Staff News Writer

“Project of reform to the system of remunerated transport of people and regulation of the companies with technological platforms of transport”. That is the title of the initiative presented by the government on Tuesday afternoon, after two extensions.

It will be processed under the file 21.228 in the Legislative Assembly and, according to Agustín Castro, vice minister of the Presidency, it is integral.

Castro reported the initiative was immediately convened for extraordinary sessions that are processed in Congress.

The legislators of the Economic Affairs Committee were waiting for the initiative, since they had already granted two extensions to the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation (MOPT) since September 2018.

Castro indicated their deadline was this Tuesday and they kept their word.
