Government promises to reduce procedures to open businesses and build

Amid criticism for its lack of direction in terms of economic recovery, the government announced on Monday its commitment to reduce waiting periods and procedures for the opening of new companies in the country and to start construction.

The Executive Power promised to reduce the waiting periods from 406 to 45 days to open companies in the service sector, 21 days in the health sector, and six months for manufacturing companies.

According to Edna Camacho, minister coordinator of the Economic Sector of the government, the reduction of will be done through the opening of the Single Window of Investment. This window will enter into operation within a maximum period of one year.

Regarding building permits, the first lady, Claudia Dobles, announced that the Federated College of Engineers and Architects (CFIA) will enable from January a digital platform to manage requests for the prerequisites of the projects.

Throughout this week, the government will announce other measures to reactivate the economy. Edna Camacho mentioned that, on Tuesday, there will be announcements in support of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs); on Wednesday, on employment; and on Thursday, about infrastructure.
