Guanacaste closes National Parks due to tropical depression

October 5, 2017 by Staff News Writer

The National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC) announced that safety reasons and population prevention compelled them to close several national parks and wild refuges of the province of Guanacaste until further notice.

The closed places are:
Santa Rosa National Park.
Rincón de la Vieja National Park.
Junquillal Bay Wildlife Refuge.
Barra Honda National Park.

The National Meteorological Institute (IMN) called for increased monitoring in areas prone to landslides or floods, as rainfall in some affected areas could reach 100 millimeters (mm).
