Health Festival to end obesity

June 10, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Ebais Unibe treated more than 5,000 people with weight problems in 2015, which is why they decided to promote the consumption of vegetables and fruits with a “Health Festival”, to be held on June, 10th.

Walks, zumba classes, lectures, glycemia and blood pressure examinations, parades and fruit tastings, are part of the activities that will be carried out in Ebais from Montes de Oca, Curridabat, San Juan, San Diego y Concepción, from 8 a.m.

According to Dr. Aaron Hernández, overweight and obesity are two of the major health problems of the population, due to recent dietary changes with the inclusion of high levels of sugar and saturated fats in foods, and little or no physical activity. Therefore, the doctor insists on making people learn healthy habits such as eating vegetables and exercising at least 30 minutes a day.
