High pressure system will maintain winds and rains in the country

January 12, 2017 by Staff News Writer

On Wednesday, the cold front affecting the country was retreating, and now the National Meteorological Institute (IMN) reported that the conditions of wind and rain will remain due to the high pressure system.

The winds will affect more the Central Valley, the North Pacific and the North Zone in the mountainous sectors with gusts between 50 and 80 kilometers per hour.

This windy pattern is caused by the transit of a high pressure system from the eastern United States to the Atlantic Ocean. Morning rainfall in the Northern Zone and the Caribbean, and possible showers in the mountains of the Central Valley are expected,”

says the report by the entity on its website.

In the Pacific, the sky will be clear in the morning, but in the afternoon that pattern could change with partial cloudiness accompanied by rainfall in the mountainous sectors.
