Hotel in San José on fire

July 21, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The Fire Department is dealing with a fire of important magnitudes in the hotel Halcón de Oro, in downtown San José. According to the report, nearly 500 square meters of the structure were burned.

Because of the magnitude of the fire it was necessary to transfer several extinguishing units, ambulances, platforms and special air equipment.

According to the Fire Department there are no victims, although there were around 25 people in the hotel.

The cause of the fire is still unknown, but apparently it was intentionally set, because according to statements of one of the owners, there was another arson attempt last night.

A team of researchers from Fire Department is heading to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
