Hurricane Matthew will partly hit Costa Rica

October 3, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Rains and thunderstorms will take place today during the afternoon aand the early evening in the Central and South Pacific region. Hurricane Matthew will be partly responsible for this.

According to the forecast from the National Meteorological Institute (IMN), there could be from 25 to 50 millimeters of rain in this area, especially in mountainous areas.

In addition, the Central Valley, Northern Zone, North Pacific and the Caribbean would be affected by downpours and electric storms.

The IMN recommends the citizens take precautions and be aware of whatever happens, mainly because there is a possibility that tree and power lines fall due to the winds. In addition, landslides and floods can occur, especially in mountainous areas.
