IACHR president will visit Costa Rica

Today, president of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) James Cavallaro, will visit Costa Rica on a business trip.

The chairman’s goal is to hold conversations with national authorities as well as participate in some forums.

Cavallaro will meet Ombudswoman Monserrat Solano to address the issue of human rights in the country. He will also meet Vice President of the Republic Ana Elena Chacón, and Minister of Justice Cecilia Sánchez.

The president of the Commission will also be part of “Report on the use of preventive detention in the Americas” discussion group, an activity arranged by the Office of the Ombudsman and the National Commission for Improving the Administration of Justice.
