IMF met with legislators and finance minister

The head of the Central America Division of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Lorenzo Figliuoli, met on Monday with Finance Minister Helio Fallas and legisltors of all fractions.

The purpose of the meeting was to analyze the fiscal scenario facing the country and the consequences if it continues without a deep reform of sales and income taxes. The meeting took place in the lounge of former presidents of the Legislative Assembly, in San José.

In addition to Figliuoli and Fallas, and the Minister of the Presidency, Sergio Alfaro, and the vice minister of that portfolio, Luis Paulino Mora, were also present.
