Irazú Volcano is covered in frost

December 18, 2018 by Staff News Writer

Monday morning registered low temperatures in Irazú Volcano and the vegetation was covered with frost.

According to the park rangers, during the early hours of Monday the temperature was two degrees Celsius and at 8:00 am it was still too cold.

Yirlania Granados works in a local store and assures that she saw everything covered in frost when she arrived.

It’s very cold but it’s worth it because the experience is beautiful. If you could come earlier you can see more,”

said the young woman.

Eladio Solano, a meteorologist at the National Meteorological Institute (IMN), said on Tuesday that the temperature dropped to six degrees Celsius.
