Italian man killed in La Sabana Park

An Italian man died on Wednesday night after being wounded with a knife while he was in La Sabana Park.

According to the police report, Fuerza Publica officers found the man with stab wounds to his chest and abdomen. Red Cross officials took him to San Juan de Dios Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

According to the witnesses, the 50-year-old victim was walking when he was attacked by some subjects, at about 8:00 p.m. The motives behind the crime are unknown.

The case is now in the hands of the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) that already has more than 500 homicides from this year to deal with.
