This structure will have a capacity of 55 megawatts and will start operations in 2023. It will be the first stage of the new ICE geothermal field.

During the past two weeks, the technical mission of Japan and the ICE defined the construction program, the investment scheme and the procurement plan, among others.

In addtion, Borinquen II is intended to be part of the National Electric System by 2025. Moreover, it is important to mention that Las Pailas II is 40% complete and it  will start operating in 2019.

The idea is to combine Borinquen I, II and Las Pailas in order to reach a total of 372 megawatts.
