Join the Good Actions Week and make a difference

April 1, 2018 by Staff News Writer

In 2017, solidarity led 25,000 volunteers to do good deeds for others through more than 160 projects developed throughout the national territory within the framework of the Day of Good Actions (DBA). The fifth edition of this initiative will be held this year and it is expected to generate a greater social impact.

As promoters of this initiative in Costa Rica, we feel great pride and satisfaction at seeing how love for our neighbor unites a whole country year after year, bringing out the best version of each one of us. This year we celebrate the fifth edition of a project that finally came to unite an entire country in solidarity,”

said Joseph Gabriel, president of Bnai Brith in the country.

During the past year, an average of 150 organizations, companies, educational and government institutions, as well as family and friends groups, carried out projects in the areas of health, education, environment, activities with children, elderly people, homeless people, and prisoners, among others.

The fifth edition of the DBA in Costa Rica will expand the space for the development of projects to establish the “Good Actions Week”, which will run from April 13th to April 21st.

To celebrate the five years of the DBA in Costa Rica and the 12 years worldwide, the Good Actions Festival will take place on April 22nd in the Metropolitan Park La Sabana completely free.

The Good Actions Day is coordinated in Costa Rica by Bnai Brith together with the Guides and Scouts Association of Costa Rica and with the support of the National Advisory Council on Social Responsibility and the Chamber of Industries of Costa Rica.

Those who wish to join can do so individually or collectively with a proposed project or participating in those already raised by other foundations and companies. Gathering trash, planting trees, helping people cross streets, cleaning parks, and even helping with housekeeping are ways of contributing with a good deed.
