Jonathan Arthur Betker is grateful!

July 27, 2016 by Staff News Writer

American Jonathan Arthur Betker is having a great recovery and he is grateful to medical authorities from Enrique Baltodano Hospital in Liberia and authorities from Clínica Bíblica.

The victim arrived in the capital’s private medical center on Saturday due to a crocodile attack. As consequence, part of his right leg below the knee was amputated.

“He is stable and he is recovering. He is receiving the medical attention that a case like this requires,” explained Jorge Cortés, Clínica Bíblica’s director.

Betker was bitten by a crocodile on Friday while surfing with friends in Tamarindo. He lost a lot of blood due to the attack and he needed a transfusion to have the operation.

“We hope he can leave once he is not at risk. He is conscious and very grateful to the people who helped him, not only at the beach, but also at the Hospital in Liberia. He states that they saved his life,” declared Cortés.
