JPS donated ₡603 million to the National Center for Palliative Care

July 10, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Through funds generated by the state lottery, the Social Protection Board (JPS) made a contribution of just over ₡603 million to cover the cost of the land on which the new National Center for Palliative Care was built.

We recognize the importance of investing in the care of people who suffer from severe chronic pain or who are facing diseases such as cancer or require special care or medication,”

said Delia Villalobos, chair of the JPS Board of Directors.

In addition to contributing to the center, the National Foundation for Pain Clinics and Palliative Care is part of the list of beneficiaries of the Board that in the last two years has received more than ₡ 60 million in contributions for the operation.

The new facilities of the National Center for Palliative Care will provide a humanized, efficient and quality service that seeks to reduce the suffering of those patients, with oncological diseases and other types of illnesses.
