La Luz del Mundo in Costa Rica defends its leader

June 12, 2019 by Staff News Writer

We categorically reject all charges against him.”

With this words, the representatives of the church La Luz del Mundo in Costa Rica defended their leader, Naasón Joaquín García. He was arrested in California, accused of sexual abuse against minors, human trafficking, among other crimes.

The representatives of this Christian group in Costa Rica reiterate the position of followers around the world: despite the accusations of the California Attorney, they deny that their “apostle”, the “envoy of God,” is linked to these crimes.

Gerson González, representative in Costa Rica, said that in the country there are 130 headquarters of La Luz del Mundo, a religious movement that was born in Mexico. Today, nearly 4.5 million people are part of this church.
