Las Pailas in Rincón de la Vieja closed down due to cold front

January 14, 2018 by Staff News Writer

Due to the influence of the cold front in the Pacific, the authorities closed the sector of Las Pailas, in Rincón de la Vieja National Park, in Guanacaste.

This was reported by the Press Office of the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC), which explained that the gusts in that area have reached 80 kilometers per hour.

The decision was taken on Sunday after the green alert issued by the National Commission of Emergencies(CNE) and in order to safeguard tourists. The closure only includes Las Pailas, the entity reported that the sectors of Santa Rosa and Santa Maria are open to the public.
