Laura Chinchilla will be the chief of OAS observers in Brazil

Former president of Costa Rica, Laura Chinchilla, will be the chief observer of the Organization of American States (OAS) in the elections in Brazil.

The OAS will observe the General Elections in Brazil for the first time in 2018. I have appointed the former president of Costa Rica as head of this historic mission,”

wrote Luis Almagro on social networks.

I’m honored with this important and historic appointment, I thank Secretary Almagro and the Brazilian electoral authorities,”

answered Chinchilla.

The Brazilian elections will be held in October.
