Legislator Abelino Esquivel wants the CNE president to resign

December 15, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Legislator Abelino Esquivel, from Restauración Nacional Party, called for the resignation of president of the National Emergency Commission (CNE) Ivan Brenes.

The request was made in an intervention in the legislative plenary where he reiterated his indignation because of the emergency decree to deal with the damages caused by Hurricane Otto in Matina.

In addition, the legislator also said that Brenes’ management has been deficient.

He is a man who has shown inability to follow up the emergency decrees. What’s more, he hasn’t handled the situation in a proper way: at any moment, Brenes gets angry, loses his temper and says whatever he wants and thinks: instead of helping, he makes things more difficult,

stated Esquivel.
