Legislator demands explanations from Vice Minister of MOPT regarding OAS case

October 14, 2016 by Staff News Writer

The representative of Partido Renovación Costarricense, Gonzalo Ramírez, criticized the position of Vice Minister of Infrastructure of MOPT, Giselle Alfaro, expressing that canceling the concession for the project of the San José-San Ramón’s road is a mistake.

The legislator sent a letter to the officer to demand an explanation and a detailed report of the current status of the project.

(…) what is happening in the MOPT is that leadership is missing, there is a lack of commitment, a lack of determination and a lack of planning to advance in a project that is not only necessary, but that will have a big impact on the country’s economy,”

declared the Legislator.

Ramírez described the initial project as obsolete because it did not include a 4-way expansion or enlargement of the bridges.

The Vice minister explained by phone that she doesn’t know anything about the letter from Ramírez and added she would not take calls from journalists.
