Legislator González: “authorities from the Ministry of Public Works are incompetent”

December 22, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Rolando González, legislator from Partido de Liberación Nacional (PLN) was outraged because of the nightmare that many Costa Ricans had to live on December 22nddue to the closure of La Platina bridge:

What happened today is incredible. It is a monument to improvisation, disrespect and it shows authorities from the Ministry of Public Works’ incompetence.

González stated that he was driving at General Cañas highway shortly before 6 am and there were not traffic officers or signals that informed drivers about the road they should use.

I was on Route 1 for about three hours and thousands of people were in the same situation. There were only two traffic officer: one at the exit of La Castella and another on the opposite side of Bailey bridge,

declared the official.

Gonzalez accused authorities from the MOPT for their inability to coordinate actions with the company in charge of the work.
