Legislators approve labor licenses for parents to take care of children

August 7, 2017 by Staff News Writer

On Monday afternoon, the Legislative Assembly approved in second reading the law that will grant labor licenses for parents or legal guardians who have seriously ill children.

The project, promoted by Fabricio Alvarado, from the National Restoration Party, aims to expand the population benefited from the Fund of Development and Family Allowances (FODESAF) in cases where children are seriously ill and require special care by their parents.

It is a license and a subsidy that will be assigned for the term indicated by the child’s physician.

This project is a humanitarian act in favor of parents and legal guardians who are powerlessness for not being able to care for any of their seriously ill children because they are working to bring their sustenance home,”

said Alvarado.

The initiative was unanimously approved.
