Legislators will ask Solís to meet Daniel Ortega

December 8, 2016 by Staff News Writer

Legislators who recently traveled to Nicaragua will ask president of the Republic Luis Guillermo Solís to meet his counterpart Daniel Ortega, despite the problematic relations between both countries.

This was confirmed by Legislator Aracelli Segura minutes after vice president of the Congress José Alberto Alfaro, who organized the controversial tour, regretted that the Government has not said a word regarding Ortega’s interest to meet Solís.

Segura said the group that made the trip will hold a meeting to reach some agreement and she said that she will make the request since Daniel Ortega has just been elected and it is an opportunity to fix the situation.

When asked about the fact that Ortega was reelected in a questioned, controversial, electoral process she replied:

Well, yes, but we can’t do anything about that.
